London, January 2025 – New dual-brand OMODA&JAECOO will start 2025 on a high in the UK thanks to impressive first year registration figures, a growing dealer network, and plans for a significant range expansion. With three more vehicles to deliver and launch in the UK, 2025 will be a pivotal year for both Chery-backed brands.
Following OMODA&JAECOO’s UK launch in August 2024 with the OMODA 5 and OMODA E5 crossover SUVs, the company registered 3,838 vehicles through its 70-plus dealers in the UK. The petrol OMODA 5 has taken 78% of this total, with 22% going to the all-electric OMODA E5.
On a global level, OMODA&JAECOO set a global monthly sales record for the dual brand in November 2024, with 23,409 units sold. That milestone means monthly sales have now surpassed 20,000 units for seven consecutive months. Since its formation in 2022, OMODA&JAECOO has sold a cumulative total of 397,852 vehicles and is on track to easily surpass its 2025 global sales target of 4000,000 units.
As its UK sales continue to grow, OMODA&JAECOO is advancing its dealer network, with 71 dealers now in place and, with a further nine due to open by March, it will employ more than 220 staff. Backing from some of the UK’s largest retailer groups, including Allen Motor Group, Arnold Clark, Cambria, Chapelhouse, Endeavour, Greenhous, Hartwell, Listers, Perrys, Peter Vardy and Vospers, means customers benefit from the scale and expertise of highly experienced sales and aftersales teams across the country.
With this network expansion, OMODA&JAECOO’s model range is also continuing to grow. Its debut model, the OMODA 5, is a dynamic fastback featuring a 187bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine and has been designed to stand out from the crowd. Inside, the car features two 10.25” high-resolution screens, multi-colour interior lighting, wireless phone charging and a full suite of ADAS safety technologies. The OMODA 5 is priced from just £25,235.
Available from £33,055, the all-electric OMODA E5 is powered by a 150kW (204bhp) electric motor and a 61kWh ‘blade’ battery. With optimised aerodynamics, the OMODA E5 offers a WLTP driving range of 257 miles. The electric crossover SUV can charge up to 80kW, with a 30% to 80% top-up possible in just 28 minutes.
In November 2024, prices were announced for the JAECOO 7, a premium SUV that will come with a choice of petrol or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains, priced from £29,435 and £35,065 respectively. With a 60-litre fuel tank, the JAECOO 7 PHEV has an exceptional driving range of 745 miles and a fuel economy figure of 403mpg (WLTP). The new SUV combines impressive off-road ability, performance and efficiency with a stylish exterior design and a tech-rich interior. Front- and four-wheel-drive configurations are available. Order books are now open for JAECOO 7, with UK deliveries commencing later this month.
Other models due to arrive in the UK during 2025 include the OMODA 9, OMODA 7 and JAECOO 5.
All OMODA&JAECOO models benefit from a comprehensive tuning program at the company’s European R&D centre in Raunheim, near Frankfurt, Germany, to ensure the best driving experience on UK roads. By relying on local resources, and thoroughly grasping the requirements of native markets, OMODA&JAECOO’s vehicle line-up is designed to appeal directly to UK customer requirements.
The OMODA 5, OMODA E5 and JAECOO 7 models have been designed to meet five-star Euro NCAP safety standards and come with a seven-year/100,000-mile manufacturer’s warranty as standard. Further showcasing its ‘Value. Every. Thing.’ ethos, in 2024 OMODA&JAECOO partnered with the RAC to offer free roadside assistance for its 1.6 petrol OMODA 5 and all-electric OMODA E5. Coverage lasts for the seven-year warranty period, provided servicing is conducted at OMODA and JAECOO centres as recommended.
