London, 29 January 2025 – One lucky driver has taken delivery of a brand new OMODA 5 crossover SUV, after entering and winning a competition in The Sun.
Simon Jackson, who lives in Grantham, Lincolnshire with his partner Michelle, was chosen at random and has now taken delivery of his OMODA 5 Comfort, worth over £25,000. The crossover SUV comes equipped with twin 10.25-inch high-res screens, wireless phone charging, rear parking camera and many other features as standard.
Picking up the car from Drayton Motors OMODA in Grantham, Simon was delighted with his new wheels. “Winning the OMODA 5 couldn’t have happened at a better time – it is an absolute game-changer for me,” he beamed.
“I’d been planning on changing my current car, which is nearly 10 years old, and I wanted an automatic, because of a bad knee, which makes it difficult to change gear,” added Simon. “I think automatics are absolutely fantastic and the OMODA will keep me going for a long time. It’s a great looking car with so many fantastic features that I’m not used to in my old one.”
Simon is a big football fan and can’t wait to travel to games all over the country in his new OMODA 5. “I don’t play football anymore, but I love watching it live,” he said. “I’m a devoted Nottingham Forest supporter and follow them home and away, so having the OMODA 5 will make getting to those games much more enjoyable. I’m also secretary of a local club, Harrowby United, and the new car will also be used to follow them too.”
Away from sports, Simon says that he and Michelle have plenty of road trips planned. “We’ve got friends down in Suffolk that we regularly visit and we have tickets to a number of concerts this year. So now we will really be able to turn up in style!”
The OMODA 5 and E5 crossover SUVs went on sale in August 2024 and, last year, the company registered 3,838 vehicles through its 70-plus dealers in the UK. The petrol OMODA 5 accounted for more than 70% of this total. In 2025, the OMODA model range will grow with the launch of the OMODA 9 and OMODA 7 models in the UK.
