The first step today in London F1 begins a series of meetings today in London which could lead to regulatory changes especially with regards to the power units starting from the Miami GP. Among the proposals on the table, however, as reported by planetf1.com there is no recalculation in terms of distribution between thermal power and electrical power. Moving the balance towards the combustion engine again, bringing it to 60% compared to the current 50/50 is impossible because engine engineers would not have time to recalibrate the power units and redefine the projects after years of research and development. In any case, the approval rules prevent any ‘hardware’ modification at least until 2027. The ‘levers’ – few – on which one can intervene are the charging limits in the superclipping phase (currently set at 250 kW, they could be increased to 350 kW), the ceiling on the delivery of electric power (which could be reduced from 350 kW to 250 kW) and a more extensive use of mobile aerodynamics that in addition to the areas currently set up in the first three races of the season.
