Preparations continue for the Cadillac on the occasion of Chinese Grand Prixscheduled for this weekend at the Shanghai circuit. After the unsuccessful debut of the US team in Melbourne, with the withdrawal of Valtteri Bottas due to technical problems and the 16th place of Sergio Perez, the hope is to take a step forward in an event that will represent another ‘debut’: in China, in fact, the first Sprint Race of the world championship.
A very significant race for the team and its drivers, starting with Perezwith the former Red Bull who will try to get closer to the top-10 after the difficult return to F1: “It was wonderful to finish the first race for the Cadillac Formula 1 Team last weekend. Now it’s about making progress wherever we can, and Shanghai is a completely different circuit, which means we can learn a lot. Sprint will make this weekend a challenge, but I’m excited to get back in the car and help the team race.”
A GP that also represents a challenge for Valtteri Bottaseager to pass under the checkered flag this time after the knockout in Australia due to a fuel system failure: “It’s great to be back in China, where there is a lot of support for the sport. It will be the second race weekend ever for us. It will also be a Sprint with only one free practice session, which will make the weekend interesting. Overall, I think we will be in a stronger position as a team again: we learned a lot from Melbourne. I can’t wait to get back in the car and give it my all with this quick turnaround.”
