At the big meeting where the “MEB Project Coordination Meetings” and the ongoing Social Responsibility Competition within the scope of the project were introduced with the participation of health services officials from 81 provinces, the sustainability of hygiene culture in educational institutions and its effects on student health were discussed with the “Basic Hygiene Principles and Hygiene Approach in Schools” panel.

“GREEN HOMELAND: MY SCHOOL IS A COLUMN FOR THE FUTURE”
At the meeting, evaluations were made regarding the effective dissemination of the project throughout the country, ensuring its sustainability and turning the hygiene culture into a permanent behavior in educational environments. Participants emphasized the importance of raising awareness of cleanliness from an early age for both individual and public health. The project aims to develop cleanliness, environmental awareness and sustainable living habits in students in line with the vision of “Green Homeland: My School is a Cure for the Future”. By establishing a culture of hygiene in schools, strengthening environmental awareness and strengthening the sense of social responsibility, it is aimed for children to grow up as individuals who contribute to a clean, healthy and livable environment.

“OUR AIM IS TO RAISE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE SENSITIVE TO LIFE, SOCIETY AND PEOPLE”
Pioneering efforts to raise social awareness about cleanliness and hygiene for years
OPET Founding Member of the Board of Directors Nurten Öztürk, In his speech at the meeting in Antalya, he drew attention to the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in protecting health and said, “We need to teach our children very well about health, how to gain it and how to protect it. While preparing this project, I said that let’s raise individuals who are sensitive to life, society, environment, history and people. Our project was shaped by this understanding and hopefully we will continue it in the most successful way from now on. In addition, I believe that we need to internalize environmental awareness more and increase our efforts in this regard. The forest fires that have occurred in our country in recent years have affected all of us.” It was deeply saddening and hurtful. You know, if trees decrease, human life becomes difficult. Unfortunately, we are losing this greenery every day. We, as OPET, were carrying out many studies in this sense within the scope of our “Respect for Nature” project; however, the issue of garbage, which is one of the causes of forest fires, is also very important. We wanted to bring this issue to the agenda. “Don’t throw it away, don’t ruin your future.” “We are trying to explain the damage done and build a beautiful future for our country and our children. I wish our meeting success and raise awareness about public health and environmental problems.”
