Stellantis Expands Circular Economy Strategy with New Casablanca Dismantling Hub

Stellantis has strengthened its global sustainability ambitions with the launch of a new vehicle dismantling centre in Casablanca, Morocco — the company’s third facility of its kind worldwide and the first in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

Following similar operations in Turin and São Paulo, the Casablanca site will serve as a strategic regional hub designed to support the growing demand for circular economy solutions across North and Sub-Saharan Africa. The facility is expected to play a key role in extending vehicle and component lifecycles while reducing waste across the automotive value chain.

Operating under Stellantis’ SUSTAINera division, the centre focuses on vehicle dismantling, parts recovery, reuse and recycling processes. By industrialising these operations, Stellantis aims to improve access to cost-effective original spare parts while promoting more responsible resource management throughout the region.

The company says the new facility will help structure the End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) ecosystem in Morocco and neighbouring African markets, creating a more traceable and regulation-compliant aftermarket environment.

Samir Cherfan, Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis Middle East & Africa, described circular economy initiatives as a strategic pillar for the company’s long-term regional growth.

“The circular economy allows us to combine industrial performance with sustainable resource management and greater accessibility for customers,” Cherfan said.

Alongside dismantling operations, the Casablanca hub will also support Stellantis’ broader 4R strategy — Remanufacture, Repair, Reuse and Recycle — aimed at maximising material efficiency while maintaining product quality standards.

With the opening of the Moroccan facility, Stellantis continues to accelerate its global transition towards more sustainable mobility and aftermarket solutions, while reinforcing its industrial footprint across the African continent.
