The SF26 number #44 was drawn at random Sky UK pit reporter Ted Kravitz had underlined that at the end of the Barcelona GP there was excitement from FIA delegates around the Ferrari of winner Lewis Hamilton and today we understood why. As usual, the FIA has issued the official note relating to the in-depth checks carried out on a car drawn at random within the top-10, checks which go beyond the usual ones which concern the weight and bottom of the car. After the checkered flag, the Federation drew lots for Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari SF26 and examined the rear braking system in detail at both a ‘hardware’ and software level, including all the sensors that have the task of transmitting data to the control unit which allows real-time monitoring by the FIA. Everything that was checked was found to comply with the technical and sporting regulations.
