The Scuderia from Maranello has won a political battle As always, the political battles in F1 are often even more heated than those on the track and when a new technical regulation takes over it is the order of things for requests for clarification regarding technical solutions to the limits of the regulation to flood in. According to what was reported by the newspaper AutoRacer.it, Ferrari has repeatedly asked the FIA for clarification regarding the ‘teeth’ that appeared on the Mercedes diffuser starting from the Canadian GP, a solution which, if tolerated, would give rise to even more ‘imaginative’ interventions in a crucial area regarding the performance of the cars. The FIA initially did not ban the solution, but now a technical directive is arriving from the Federation to prohibit interventions on the diffuser. It is not certain that this technical directive will be effective starting from Austria because the teams must have the technical time to ‘react’ and respect this decision, it will certainly be effective at Silverstone.
