Red Bull behind Haas
The Constructors’ classification currently sees Haas ahead of Red Bull by 17 points to 12 and judging by the Chinese GP this is no coincidence. Max VerstappenIn fact, he was unable to threaten Oliver Bearman for fifth position just as he was unable to overtake Lando Norris in Australia. Then came the ordered withdrawal from the wall.
The Dutchman had already missed the points zone in the Sprint, which ended in ninth position behind Liam Lawson’s Racing Bulls and at the moment he has only 8 points in the Drivers’ standings as a result of the sixth place obtained in Melbourne starting from the back of the starting grid.
At the end of the GP Verstappen once again shot nothing down on the 2026 F1s, underlining that he would say the same things even if he were winning. Gunther Steiner he doesn’t entirely believe the thesis of the four-time world champion: “Verstappen throws a tantrum because he is not used to not being behind the wheel of one of the best cars on the starting grid and this does not help his mood to be less critical of the new rules – said the former Haas team principal as guest of the podcast TalkSport – if a car doesn’t start, and for example in China neither of the two McLarens started, which hadn’t happened for a long time, you can’t blame the regulations, because most of the other cars started.”
“Max isn’t happy because his car isn’t where he wants it to be and he’s someone who gets angry quickly if things don’t go the way he wants – added Steiner – but we must be intellectually honest and recognize that in reality Red Bull is already surprising in terms of power unit, as is Audi. The races were quite fun and that’s the most important thing.”
