Russell towards Miami Formula 1 is recharging its batteries, it must be said, in view of the return to the track expected at the beginning of May. For George Russell it is the opportunity to put an end to the frustrating race in Suzuka, which saw him finish fourth after a series of unlucky episodes. In Japan the #63 lost the championship lead, handing it over to teammate Kimi Antonelli. Russell has evidently understood that he can no longer underestimate the class of 2006 and feels ready for the Miami weekend, one of the first tracks where the Bolognese had exhibited his talent, winning pole position in the 2025 Sprint. Russell’s words “I feel great ahead of Miami. For Mercedes it was an extraordinary start to 2026 and I got off to a really good start. I had a challenging race in Suzuka, but the season is very long and we have an excellent package available: it is the most important thing”, these are the words of the Briton. “I feel confident, this break was a good way to rest and I’m ready to go again,” he added. “I also like Miami a lot: it’s a fast and smooth track, which offers good overtaking chances. Let’s see how it goes weather-wise: in recent years storms have barely missed the track. It’s a factor that can have an influence.”
