Earthquake in Milton Keynes Excluding Max Verstappen, the last cornerstone of Red Bull has fallen, having achieved great results in F1 from 2021 to 2024 (dominating in 2023): according to what was reported by the Dutch newspapers De Telegraaf and De Limburger, in fact, Gianpiero Lambiase has accepted an astronomical offer from McLaren and will join the Woking team starting from 2028. Lambiase still has one year left on his contract with Red Bull until 2027 and in McLaren’s plans he is the designated successor to Andrea Stella in the role of papaya team principal when Stella ends his experience at the helm of McLaren. After Rob Marshall and Will Courtenay, Lambiase will also leave Milton Keynes to arrive at Woking, a change of jersey which only darkens the clouds over the future of Max Verstappen in Red Bull given that it is no secret that the Dutch driver is very close to his race engineer who was unable to refuse ‘the offer of a lifetime’ for what will be a probable career advancement – paid for in gold – in the team that dethroned Red Bull from the role of dominant car in the era ground effect.
