Red Bull, it’s time to reorganize Red Bull Racing is reorganizing itself on a technical level, even if not exactly – and not directly – in response to the farewell of Gianpiero Lambiase, announced by McLaren but still regularly in his place on the wall alongside Max Verstappen at least until the end of the 2027 season. Rather, the Milton Keynes team reinforces the pool of engineers directly reporting to Pierre Waché, who many sources say is in difficulty given the poor start to the World Championship despite the surprisingly positive performances of the former power unit created in collaboration with Ford. The “news” coming For this reason, the French technical director who is said to be able to play out a good portion of his future in the team in Miami, will have the help of Ben Waterhouse at his disposal with immediate effect. Starting today, the English technician becomes chief engineer of the performance and design department, with responsibility for the design and performance of the vehicle, communicating directly with Waché. For Waterhouse, who is 46 years old, this is an internal promotion, given his already long militancy in the Red Bull family: he arrived in Toro Rosso as deputy technical director in 2014 from BMW-Sauber, and since 2017 he has been head of engineering performance of the Milton Keynes team. However, it is not the only reorganization at Red Bull: starting from 1 July, Max Verstappen’s team will have the Italian engineer Andrea Landi, former deputy head of performance at Ferrari and deputy technical director at Racing Bulls after the exit of Jody Egginton, available as head of performance, reporting directly to Ben Waterhouse: also in this case we are therefore talking about internal promotion and not a real purchase from the outside, given that the resource was already under contract with the Faenza stable. Furthermore, Landi now has a fair amount of experience in the Red Bull family, given that even before his arrival from Ferrari, he had worked in F1 at Toro Rosso as track engineer for the Spanish driver Jaime Alguersuari.
