The wound The holiday in Thailand of former Formula 1 driver Mika Salo turned into a nightmare, hospitalized after suffering a stab wound in Bangkok. According to what the 59-year-old reported to the Finnish newspaper IS, the attack was carried out completely randomly by a motorcyclist while he was crossing the road at the pedestrian crossing: “I heard a small blow – he said – but I didn’t realize anything until a passer-by pointed out that I was bleeding from my leg. I looked down and saw that my shoe was completely covered in blood”. Not only him Transported to hospital, Salo reported that the doctor examined the wound, believing it to be attributable to a stab wound. A random attack, therefore, with the medical staff telling the former Ferrari driver (called to Maranello to replace Michael Schumacher in 1999) that on that same evening there had been other hospitalizations for similar injuries: “It’s a shame – he added – you can’t swim or do practically anything. You spend a lot of time in the hotel room. The wound is kept dry in an air-conditioned room. The doctor told me not to walk long distances, but I can easily walk a kilometer or two. I have no pain and I haven’t taken any painkillers. I’m just taking antibiotics. In a big city there’s always room for idiots. Luckily, this one hit me in the leg and not elsewhere. If they did it intentionally, they would have obviously tried to hit me in the upper body. Questioned by the police, to whom he reiterated that he had been attacked randomly and without having suffered any type of theft, Salo wanted to thank the police: “I must compliment the Thai police. They obtained footage from the security cameras and other material in a very short time. Here, the injury of a tourist is a big problem: ”
