A strange Formula 1
In the first part of the race the battle between Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and George Russell’s Mercedes it was really unusual, with five overtaking and counter-overtaking which left a question as to how much they depended on the real skills of the pilots in the maneuvers and how much on the different energy loads on the points of the track.
Vasseur and Wolff appreciate it
Mercedes and Ferrari seem to be the teams that have been most ready for the regulatory revolution, so it is not surprising that Toto Wolff and Frederic Vasseur praised what they saw in Melbourne, without ifs or buts.
As Wolff: “Whoever said the new regulation wasn’t spectacular was wrong from the start.”
He echoed it Vasseur: “For sport it was an excellent race. At the beginning of the year there were some pessimistic comments about this new F1. But I believe that at the start of the grand prix we saw the 10 most exciting laps of the last 10 years.”
