The Cadillac towards Monte Carlo A new test for the Cadillac, and the Americans want to get there prepared. Monte Carlo represents a demanding challenge, which tests drivers and teams with its narrow streets famous for not forgiving the slightest mistake. As in Miami and Montreal, Mario Andretti’s team will have updates on the MAC-26: among the areas that will present innovations there are a new rear wing and modifications to the exhaust pipe, with the aim of improving performance in slow corners. If it is the debut in Monegasque glamor for Cadillac, the same cannot certainly be said for Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas: the Mexican won here in 2022 with Red Bull, while the Finn achieved a podium in 2019. This is how the two Cadillac drivers framed this weekend’s Monaco GP. Perez’s words “We made a big step forward in Canada. I managed to compete in the middle of the pack in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix”, this is Perez’s comment. “Obviously there are aspects we need to improve on, but everything is very new here. We are continually learning and making progress together, as a team, step by step, race by race. Monaco is a unique and extremely challenging circuit, but it is one of my favorite races on the calendar. I love street circuits and have really fond memories of my win here in 2022, so hopefully this weekend we can continue to make progress.” Bottas’ words “The last few races have been a bit complicated for my side of the garage. We faced some problems, but that was to be expected with a brand new team,” added Bottas. “It’s all part of the learning process. We know that progress takes time, but the team and I are working very well and closely together to make those steps forward. Clearly, we are making progress and becoming more competitive session after session, which is exciting. It’s no secret that Monaco is challenging, but it’s a place I love racing. I’m excited to see what we can do.”
