MG Motor UK made further strong progress in 2024 with both new and current models performing notably well for the brand.
MG, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024, reached two notable milestones achieving record UK sales of 81,536* units in addition to being ranked 10th in terms of total UK vehicle registrations for the first time.
Total UK market share for MG was 4.18% with 27.2% of all MG sales being electric vehicles.
Sales information released by Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) underlined the strong performance of key MG models. The award-winning MG4 EV hatchback was the UK’s 4th best selling electric vehicle and was the 2nd best selling model with private buyers.
Additionally, MG HS SUV models secured 30,207 sales and was the 8th best selling car in the UK. Other strong performers for the marque included an all-new supermini, the MG3 Hybrid+, which achieved over 6,000 sales after its launch in Spring 2024.
In addition to introducing an all-new HS SUV and the MG3 Hybrid+, MG Motor UK also launched the ZS Hybrid+ (a compact SUV) as well as the Cyberster, a stylish EV two-seat convertible GT with the dramatic exterior created at the company’s Marylebone Design Studio.

He added that in 2025, MG Motor UK will embark upon an ambitious new model programme, introducing several new cars and in different segments.
