Alonso and the ‘unlimited’ updates of the competition: “It seems they have machines that print money”

The Asturian must wait for better times. 2026 is certainly not an easy season in F1 for Fernando Alonso. The two-time world champion was confident in the Aston Martin-Honda project with Adrian Newey as designer, but for now the ‘package’ put together with millions by Lawrence Stroll has turned out to be a resounding fiasco. Aston Martin will not bring any substantial changes to the car in the next races, the recovery could begin after the summer break, certainly not before. Fernando Alonso joked about this issue because instead the other teams, especially the top teams, are updating the single-seaters with great consistency: “It’s impressive to see the news sheets on Friday – said Alonso as reported by the Spanish newspaper AS – it seems that the others have cars that print money in the factory. Apparently, however, we don’t have the money to bring unlimited updates like the other teams do”.
