An exciting Sunday for the fans of the Red “Winning at home is always a great thing” underlined the former Ferrari team principal Maurizio Arrivabene, guest of the Sky studios on the occasion of the in-depth post-GP ‘Race Anatomy’. Arrivabene knows well what it means to win at Silverstone in the home of Mercedes having achieved it with Sebastian Vettel in 2018, the Sunday on which the famous radio team ‘At their home’ was coined. On paper, Ferrari should have run on defense in the British GP but instead the Scuderia from Maranello dictated the pace from Friday, eventually managing with a bit of luck to get the better of the home team who had another technical problem with Andrea Kimi Antonelli. “At Silverstone I’m not surprised by Ferrari’s performance – said Arrivabene – it’s an aerodynamics circuit, it means that they have made progress on aerodynamics, the Mercedes are stronger on the engine. It’s a good battle”. A battle that in two weeks will have a tasty revenge on another legendary track, that of Spa in Belgium, an event that already becomes a watershed in front of a ranking that sees Antonelli, Russell and Hamilton enclosed in 32 points with Leclerc -71 from the leader.
