Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) has appointed Antonio “Tony” Grasso as its new general counsel and company secretary.
Grasso joined the company on November 3 after more than two decades with Inchcape Australasia, where he held senior legal and compliance roles across the business. He also chaired the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries’ legal committee from 2018 to 2024.
VGA says Grasso brings extensive experience across local and international markets, along with a strong background in executive governance and strategic legal advisory work.
VGA managing director Karsten Seifert says the appointment comes as the company expands its product range and advances its electric vehicle strategy.
“Tony’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Volkswagen Group Australia as we continue to expand our product portfolio and accelerate our electromobility strategy,” Seifert says.
“His proven leadership and deep industry insight will be invaluable in supporting our strategic pillars and governance framework.”
