The Sprint also in Monza While waiting for this year’s Italian Grand Prix, ACI and Formula 1 have formalized the achievement of an important three-year agreement valid starting from 2027: in the setting of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the President of the ACI, Geronimo La Russa, has in fact announced the introduction of the Sprint Race, which will take place on Saturday from the next edition. Sold out for this year. The novelty, however, was not the only one made known: the 2026 Italian Grand Prix, which will take place over the weekend from 4 to 6 September at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, has already sold out for the race, in an event capable of involving over 300,000 people. La Russa, who took the opportunity to thank the bodies and institutions involved, also confirmed for this edition the addition of a grandstand entirely reserved for ACI members. On the starting grid, shortly before the start, tenor Francesco Meli will also perform the Mameli Hymn. Also during the Milanese meeting, the official poster of the 2026 Italian Grand Prix was also revealed, an artistic choice that combines motoring tradition with contemporary visual currents created by the Pavia-based artist Marco Lodola. Connecting from London, the President and CEO of F1, Stefano Domenicali spoke to express his opinion on the agreement reached with ACI, also referring to the last British GP: “Even in Formula 1, culture is central. Yesterday at Silverstone there was a huge presence, I hope that this can also be good for the Monza GP. Sunday’s race is sold out, then we have a Ferrari back as a protagonist, a Kimi Antonelli who represents our country: there are all the ingredients for a grand prix important.”
