Patrese joins the ACI A new chapter will soon open in Riccardo Patrese’s long experience in the world of motorsport, this time linked to the ACI. The former Formula 1 driver from Veneto, winner of 6 GPs in his career, will be the new Ambassador of the Automobile Club of Italy, where he will contribute not only to the promotion of projects relating to sport, but also to those of road safety and the culture of mobility. Patrese, in F1 from 1977 to 1993 and vice-world champion in 1992, was welcomed by Geronimo La Russa, President of the ACI: “The entry of Riccardo Patrese as Ambassador represents an added value for the entire ACI system. His sporting history, combined with a credibility built over years of competition at the highest levels, makes him the ideal witness of our values. Patrese has long represented Italian excellence in international motorsport and, even today, his journey remains a point of reference.” The objectives In addition to being present in the ACI Sport racing season, starting with the ACI Racing Weekend scheduled from 8 to 10 May in Misano, Patrese will put his expertise at the service of the new generations of drivers through various activities of the ACI Sport Federal School: “The ACI has always been the essential hub of Italian motor racing – declared Patrese – a reference capable of creating the conditions for the drivers of tomorrow to emerge. The ACI Sport Federal School is an excellence in the absolute education of young people, I can’t wait to be able to give my contribution to the new generations together with the Federation. Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s path is also a testimony of all this, and his successes are already offering positive effects to our movement”. In addition to this, the Paduan added a comment on the topic of safety: “ACI was created to be at the service of the motorist, to give the right advice for taking care of the car and driving, in compliance with the rules. I am happy to be alongside ACI and the President Geronimo La Russa also to continue to transmit these principles”.
