Monza-PoliMi Agreement The Polytechnic of Milan and the Monza circuit have reached a five-year agreement to develop joint activities in the fields of scientific research, training and technological innovation applied to the world of mobility and sports infrastructures. The agreement aims to transform the Autodromo into an open-air laboratory for the experimentation of new technological solutions, involving students, researchers and teachers of PoliMi in applied research projects and training activities: it will concern in particular the study of materials and infrastructures for circuits and sports facilities, their architectural and landscape-environmental impact, the development of high-performance asphalts and safety systems, the experimentation of automotive technologies, the creation of advanced simulation models for the design, management of infrastructures and also, on the security, management of public flows. The collaboration will have as its contact Prof. Emilio Faroldi, Vice Rector of PoliMi, who proudly comments on the agreement: “The Autodrome represents a complex and highly valuable infrastructure, both memorial and functional, capable of representing the ideal context for developing applied research and experimentation activities. This collaboration will allow our University to work on materials, safety and management of sports infrastructures, bringing our design and research action to face real conditions characterized by high complexity, reiterating the strong identity of the place.” “Since its origins, Monza has been much more than a circuit: a gym and an innovation laboratory,” added the President of Autodromo Nazionale Monza Giuseppe Redaelli. “Solutions were born here that were then spread on a large scale, from the use of full-face helmets to guardrails and electronic toll collection technologies. The collaboration with the Polytechnic of Milan strengthens this vocation, projecting us towards new challenges in research and applied experimentation. We want to continue to be a point of reference for technological development, linking training, innovation and concrete application. This agreement enhances our history and consolidates the pioneering role of the Autodrome in the field of infrastructure and management of major events.”
