Pirelli tests, here are Mercedes and McLaren In an April that was singularly silent from a motoring point of view due to the war in Iran, F1 turned on the engines exclusively for the Pirelli tests. The Milanese company is in fact at the Nürburgring to test the 2027 tyres, and today Mercedes and McLaren are on track on the modern version of the historic German track. The Brackley team has already shared the first contents of the working day. The first to take to the track was George Russell, while for McLaren it was Oscar Piastri. In recent weeks, Red Bull and Racing Bulls (remained in Suzuka after the Japanese GP) and Ferrari have also collaborated with Pirelli, with Lewis Hamilton testing wet tires on the Fiorano circuit, artificially wet thanks to the track’s irrigation system.
