Max Verstappen and the WEC save the weekend There will be no Formula 1 on the weekend of April 19, but racing fans will certainly have some high quality food for their teeth. Not only the emotions of the WEC which begins the 2026 season from the 6 Hours of Imola, given that Max Verstappen will also be there to save yet another weekend without a GP: the Dutchman from Red Bull takes to the track at the Nurburgring Nordschleife for the double round of the NLS championship called “Qualifiers” and which is precisely the last stage approaching the 24 Hours scheduled for the green hell on the 16th and May 17th. Verstappen will be involved in a double 4-hour race, taking place both on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April. A decidedly important appointment to refine preparations in view of the 24 Hours of the Nordschleife as it will allow Max to compete in conditions of poor visibility, after sunset, but also to oil the mechanisms of collaboration with teammate Lucas Auer, the fourth of the Verstappen.com Racing team crew (completed by Jules Gounon and Daniel Juncadella) for the 24 Hours, who however was not present in the previous races. The details of the weekend’s events The races will all be shown live on the official channels of the NLS – the championship which organizes endurance races throughout the year always and only at the Nurburgring Nordschleife – and on , with the possibility of simultaneously following both the official streaming of the event with commentary in English and the complete on-board footage from the number 3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 driven by Max Verstappen and Lucas Auer. Below are the appointments to follow the weekend live: Friday 17 April: free practice from 12.15pm to 2.45pm; Saturday 18 April: qualification-1 from 8.30 to 10.00; Saturday 18 April: race-1 from 5.30pm to 9.30pm Sunday 19 April: qualifying-2 from 8.15am to 9.45am and top-qualifying to follow Sunday 19 April: race-2 from 1.00pm to 5.00pm
