Suzuka 2025: the circuit of changes
A year ago, on the occasion of Japanese Grand Prixthe line-up of Racing Bulls underwent a change during the championship in progress and after just two races from the start of the world championship: Liam Lawson, who moved to Red Bull in 2025 in place of Sergio Perez, was in fact relegated to the Faenza team (where he had made his debut in F1) as the new teammate of the rookie Isack Hadjar, with the Suzuka crowd instead seeing Yuki Tsunoda at the wheel of the Red Bull as part of a real exchange between the two drivers.
Now, however, Red Bull and Racing Bulls have not completed any changes compared to the beginning of the season, but the line-ups do not coincide with those of the 2025 Japanese GP: while Isack Hadjar arrived in Milton Keynes to replace Tsunoda, in Faenza he met Lawson as his new teammate Arvid Lindbladthe only rookie of this world championship. Born in 2007, the Briton surprised everyone on his debut with an 8th place in Australia, while he is now preparing to take part in the weekend on a track he has never faced before in his career like that of Suzuka.
The sensations
A challenge that will see him at the wheel of a VCARB-03 with the special livery for the Japanese weekend, all while awaiting a one-of-a-kind race: “We’ve already had a great start to Japanese GP week. We were in Tokyo last week to unveil our special livery inspired by the Red Bull Spring Edition can and showcased at the Red Bull Tokyo Drift event. It was really cool to experience such a unique event celebrating Japanese car culture; it felt like we were in a movie. I got to be the passenger while we drifted, which was amazing and something that scared me more than I thought, going at those speeds in such tight corners is something you’d think I should be used to. It was also a further demonstration of how we at VCARB support creatives, as we worked with a shodo calligraphy artist. The livery is one of the nicest we’ve done, I particularly like the chrome red and I can’t wait to show it on the track in a few days. Australia and China were both completely different races, and everything was new to me, so there are definitely some useful lessons that I will bring to Suzuka this week. I can’t wait to race on this iconic circuit for the first time; I think it will be fantastic to drive on such a fast and smooth track. It’s one of those circuits where you have to be brave at certain pointswhich is exciting because you it gives that pure racing feeling that we all love“.
