A very good first for the Racing Bulls driver
Arvid Lindblad he immediately took center stage on his F1 debut. The Racing Bulls rookie at the start even pushed himself up to third place for a few hundred meters after overtaking Lewis Hamilton and fought tooth and nail against all the opponents he had to deal with, including Max Verstappen (the Dutchman did not like what from his point of view was a brake test entering the pit lane).
Lindblad finished the GP in eighth place, Verstappen was as spirited on his debut as the Racing Bulls driver, but had to give up due to a technical problem. Two similar debuts, the only difference is the final result due to reliability.
“Crazy race, crazy to be third on the first lap fighting with Lewis Hamilton and then with Max Verstappen – Lindblad said at the end of the match to the microphones of Sky Sports – there are things I need to work on, but it was a good GP and finishing in the points goes beyond my wildest expectations. What if I was the best on the track? I don’t have to be the one to answer this question, but I think I did a good job together with the team.”
