Hamilton doesn’t have too much confidence Among the many opinions given by the Formula 1 drivers at Suzuka on possible regulation changes, that of Lewis Hamilton did not go unnoticed. The English Ferrari champion was particularly demoralized by the difference in power compared to the Mercedes engine and hinted that he did not expect miracles from the April meetings. In particular, Hamilton is aware that each team will try to get their money’s worth and that it will therefore be really complex to find a synthesis between so many interests. Hamilton explained: “I don’t expect much, I hope we can make some important changes. But there will be too many chefs in that kitchen. And usually when that’s the case the result is never the best…”, sighed the seven-time British world champion. The Ferrari driver had also complained about the absence of the drivers at the decision-making table on the changes to the rules: he was not satisfied and the presence of any representative of the protagonists behind the wheel is not expected in the meetings. There will be three meetings The New York Times revealed that the discussion of the 2026 regulations in April will be divided into three phases. On Thursday 9 April and Thursday 16 April the F1 Technical Advisory Committee will meet, which includes all 11 teams, the 5 manufacturers and the technical sector of Formula 1. In these two meetings, all the available data from the first three weekends of 2026 will be reviewed and proposals will be put forward to improve the spectacle on the track – and it has already emerged that particular attention will be paid to qualifying, given that the drivers’ frustration at no longer being able to drive going to the limit.
Subsequently on Monday 20 April we will proceed with the voting on the proposals, with the aim of implementing them as early as the Miami stage at the beginning of May.
