There are many stakes, and another was put by the president of the Qatar Motorcycle and Automobile Federation, Abdulrahman Al-Mannai, who explained that the date of 29 November will not be changed to make room for possible recoveries, underlining how the Qatar GP is closely linked to the subsequent final round in Abu Dhabi: “No, the date will not be moved. I don’t think there will be changes, because we are practically just one step away from Abu Dhabi, which is the last round”, these are his words to The Athletic. “I think it’s really difficult to move any dates right now.” Among the solutions being studied is that of placing the possible recovered race between the Azerbaijan GP and the Singapore GP (Sunday 4 October), which would avoid cluttering the calendar at the end of the season but would require a considerable logistical effort on the part of teams, organizers and suppliers. But these are hypotheses that will only hold up if rapid geopolitical improvements occur in the Middle East, and it is clear that F1 has a deadline in mind to decide (probably before the summer break) and plans B to flesh out the calendar.
