Yes to more starting tests
Extra laps (two) at the end of the sessions to carry out starting tests, but no increase or elimination of the charging limit in the formation lap: yesterday an important meeting took place on the topic related to departures.
Several drivers have underlined that it is only a matter of time before a serious accident occurs as a result of slow starts, but at the moment there is no big news. As reported by the newspaper The-Race.com there FIAin fact, rejected the request of some teams who would have liked to see the battery charging limit increased during the formation lap because it was believed that increasing the limit would only create other potential problems with the drivers and could however trigger accidents with erratic acceleration and braking during the formation lap.
This decision was also taken in light of the necessary resistance opposed in particular by Ferrari to the FIA’s possible desire to change the starting regulations as some teams had made design decisions that make it more difficult for their cars to make a good start.
