Collecting Cars’ sales results in June show the collector car markets in Australia and New Zealand remain strong.
The leading online auction platform for the sale of classic, performance and collectible cars delivered around AUD $7 million in sales from 96 lots in Australia in June, with auction lots selling each day of the month.
June’s sales tally brings the company’s Australian year-to-date sales total to just under 600 consignments, which is 47 percent higher than this time last year.
“Australasian collector car sales remained solid despite the current economic sentiment, global news headlines and cold mid-year weather,” said Lee Hallett, Head of APAC at Collecting Cars.

Collecting Cars sale highlights from June 2025 include:
2022 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series – NZD $740,000
2019 McLaren 720S – AUD $329,000
1999 Nissan Skyline (R34) GT-R V Spec – AUD $203,501
2020 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4 – AUD $148,000
2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS with Weissach Pack – AUD $286,002
1986 Holden Commodore HDTV L SS Group A Plus Pack – AUD $120,000
An array of heritage number plate sales during June indicates local demand for rare and low-number combinations remains strong. Examples included:
Q77 – Queensland Heritage plate – AUD $565,000
47 – NSW Motorcycle number plate – AUD $75,000
78 – West Australian Heritage number plate – AUD $173,388
Collecting Cars has a number of special and rare auction lots available in July, some of which will be showcased at the annual Noosa Concours, to be held on 19 July.
