Alpine wants Gasly’s podium back The 2026 Monaco GP may not be over yet. Alpine, in fact, has decided to exercise the right of review because it believes that the penalties for speeding in the pit lane inflicted on Pierre Gasly are unjustified. “Despite the excellent restart after the red flag and Pierre’s third place on track, we saw the result undermined by two penalties, with which we strongly disagree. These penalties were imposed on at least four teams on the grid, which constitutes a valid reason for a review. Therefore, we have appealed to the FIA,” said Flavio Briatore. At the origin of the rain of speeding there could be an underlying problem due to the measurement of speed following excessively marked cuts in the pit lane, especially at the entrance, cuts which according to the regulations are not irregular.
