Denza has officially launched in Australia, opening its first showroom at Rushcutters Bay, Sydney, and confirming pricing for its debut B5 and B8 super-hybrid SUVs.

The new models, built on BYD’s DM-O platform, combine EV-first daily driving with plug-in hybrid capability, delivering a Total range of almost 1000km. The B5 will arrive in Standard and Leopard variants, while the flagship B8 is offered in seven-seat (7S) and six-seat (6S) configurations.

Australian pricing starts at $74,990 for the B5, $79,990 for the B5 Leopard, $91,000 for the B8 7S and $97,990 for the B8 6S (excluding on-road costs).

The vehicles were showcased at Denza’s first Australian dealership opening, ahead of a national roadshow through new retail locations this week. Both SUVs feature BYD Blade Battery technology, dual-motor 4WD and the optional DiSus-P hydraulic suspension system.

Denza chief operating officer Mark Harland says the brand is entering the market with strong interest.

“At DENZA, we’re excited to offer Australian customers a gateway to automotive luxury at price points which are unrivalled in the segment,” Harland says.

“There is now a real new energy choice for those who wish to combine adventure with sustainability and sophistication. We’ve invited early enthusiasts of the brand to these dealership launches across the country — and, with almost 5,000 expressions of interest, we expect each location to be filled with DENZA customers eager to get behind the wheel of their very own B5 or B8.

“What really excites us is getting to share DENZA’s technology with Aussie customers. You can use these vehicles almost exclusively as EVs around town, while being able to hit the road for almost 1,000km in a single drive thanks to this Super hybrid technology.”

Orders for both models are now open. The first 2,000 B5 buyers will receive a complimentary premium paint and interior trim upgrade valued at approximately $1,818.
