Never in the points since the beginning of the year. In the home Grand Prix of Formula 1, on the historic Silverstone circuit, Audi will present itself this weekend with the mission of returning to the points zone. The Four Rings drivers, especially in the last races, have come close to the top 10 several times, without however taking the decisive step that would have brought the debuting German team back into the top ten after the 9th place achieved by Bortoleto in Australia. 11th place for three consecutive GPs Since then, in what was the first race of the world championship, Bortoleto has always finished between 11th and 13th place (except for a retirement in China), closing the last weekends close to the points zone: “We have made progress in the last weekends and each time we learn something more about how to get the most out of our car – explained the Brazilian – I have finished in eleventh place in the last three races, which shows that we are regularly fighting for points: I hope we can do even better soon. “What we showed in Austria was encouraging, and the package we brought there also contributed; I hope we can replicate this result at Silverstone. It’s a circuit that I really liked both last year and in my career in the youth categories, and with the Sprint format it will be important to get straight into the heart of the race. I can’t wait to see what we can achieve this weekend.” Teammate Nico Hülkenberg is also never too far from the top 10, with the German driver chasing what would be an important top ten finish to pull ahead of Aston Martin and reduce the gap to Williams in the Constructors’ standings, as well as his first personal result this year: “There have been several positive signs in the last few races, even if the results have not always reflected the potential of our package. The important thing is to continue to work hard, execute the maneuvers well and make the most of our car: if we do this, the results will come. Silverstone is a circuit that I have always liked and last year’s podium gives me many good memories. Being a Sprint race, it will be an intense weekend where every lap will count, but I hope we can take the positive aspects forward and turn them into a concrete result.”
