Ferrari, what a turnaround between Leclerc and Hamilton Fourth place at Silverstone in 2025 behind Nico Hülkenberg attracted several criticisms of Lewis Hamilton. Of course, the Briton tied the best result of the season but seeing the German on the podium (with his first top-3 in his career) in the Kick Sauber and not the seven-time world champion made people turn up their noses, considering the enormous investment to bring the #44 to Maranello. In that race Sir Lewis tried to achieve his first podium in Ferrari and maintain his ten-year streak of top-3 finishes at Silverstone, but the SF-25 just didn’t suit the characteristics of the Briton, who in fact would have had to wait for the 2026 Chinese GP to break his fast. A year later, however, it’s a completely different Hamilton. Who not only achieved his first podium in Red but also updated his victory tally with the triumph in Barcelona. Thanks to a much better feeling with the car (and perhaps with the concept itself promoted by the new regulations) compared to that of 12 months ago. This is demonstrated by an emblematic fact. The numbers Hamilton has doubled the points he had in the standings after eight race weekends: 125 now, 63 in 2025. If Sir doubles, Charles Leclerc remains stationary: the Monegasque has exactly the number of points (79) that he had accumulated a year ago at the same point of the season. And now comes Silverstone, where Hamilton holds the record for victories (nine, no driver has ever won so many on the same circuit). Leclerc’s difficulties are evident and have also affected the sphere of communication, with the Monegasque publicly blaming the Brembo brake discs and following the path taken by Lewis Hamilton since Suzuka. The change has not helped Leclerc so far, who hit the wall in qualifying at Montmeló and at the Red Bull Ring he suffered a lot in braking and in his race pace. In the last three race weekends, the Ferrari driver has only collected four points: in addition to the “big names”, Pierre Gasly, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad have had a better performance.
