Renault is preparing to battle for the next social lease, which is due to start on July 16, 2026. The Diamond brand adds a new model to the system: Twingo E-Tech, with prices starting from 130 Euros per month. The new Twingo is available for social rental for a monthly rent of 130 euros for the Evolution version and 139 euros for the Techno version. ©Cetadi Prod-Renault
Social renting is making a comeback in summer 2026. After Stellantis, it is Renault’s turn to offer models suitable for the system. This year the diamond brand will present four models, three of which have already experienced the baptism of fire in the previous two editions: R5, R4 and Megane E-Tech. But to put all the luck on its side, Renault is adding a flagship model to the system: the new Twingo E-Tech.
This is available for a rental of up to 130 euros per month for the Evolution version and 139 euros for the Techno version. Note that the autonomy in the WLTP cycle for these two models is approximately 260 km and the consumption is 12.2 kWh/100 km. If the model is eco-rated, its engine and battery are not produced in Europe.
A small rent difference between Twingo and Renault 5
Surprisingly, the rental difference with the R5 Evolution is almost zero (also 139 euros per month) for a much greater range of 416 km in the WLTP cycle. Note that the R5 was the diamond brand’s best-selling model in the previous edition, with 15,600 units rented under the system. R5 E-Tech techno is offered with a monthly rental fee of 170 Euros. Note that the vehicle was selected as the 2025 Car of the Year and was assembled in Douai (59).
Evolution and Techno versions of the R4 will also be there in this third season of social rental. The latter can be accessed for a monthly rent of 170 and 190 euros respectively. The rental price of the Megane E-Tech in the Techno version is 190 euros. Note that this model has a range of 468 km.

Orders opened on June 16, 2026
Renault vehicles will be available for order from 16 June 2026, one month before the official opening of social rental orders. We would like to remind you that the group has launched a dedicated website to get an idea of the number of interested customers and to support them in their efforts. The French manufacturer has also launched a WhatsApp service to test compatibility.
As a reminder, the government has provided an envelope to finance 50,000 electric vehicles. Expanded eligibility to ensure more people can access these offerings. The government offers four amounts of aid depending on where the model is manufactured. Thus, the aid will be 6 thousand 500 euros for electric vehicles with eco-points, 7 thousand euros if the engine is produced in Europe, 9 thousand euros if the battery is produced in Europe and finally 9 thousand 500 euros if the three criteria are combined.
