Racing Bulls ‘Double’ In an edition of the Monaco Grand Prix that will be remembered for the numerous penalties and criticisms that emerged after the race, there were however positive factors, such as the celebrations in the all-Tricolor paddock: in addition to the never-questioned victory of Andrea Kimi Antonelli, the team that surprised the most was Racing Bulls. The team from Faenza, in fact, obtained a double placing in the points, with Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad also protagonists of their best performance in Formula 1. Lawson returns to the top 5. The New Zealander, still at the wheel of the Racing Bulls, equaled the 5th place obtained last year on another city circuit such as that of Baku, in Azerbaijan, thus describing all his emotions: “I’m really very happy – he declared – it’s an excellent result for the team, finishing in fifth and sixth place, especially considering where we started at the start of the weekend. The races can seem quite unpredictable at the moment, with several cars forced to retire, so it’s important to make the most of those moments when they arise. I honestly had a lot of fun in the race and the team worked hard to make a fast car today, so I’m really grateful to be able to finish the weekend on a high.” Lindblad soaring While Lawson thus entered the top 5, rookie Arvid Lindblad finished behind his teammate in 6th place, improving by two places his highest performance achieved on his F1 debut in Australia, when he achieved eighth place: “I’m incredibly happy with the result. It went beyond all my expectations after Saturday, so a huge thank you to everyone here on the track, to the team in Faenza and Milton Keynes. They did a phenomenal job, and for us to go home with a double points finish it’s an amazing result. The first stint seemed very long, I spent most of it in traffic and I concentrated on managing the tires as best as possible. We managed to take advantage of the red flag, which turned out to be a huge opportunity, and in the end the restart was probably the most important part of the race for us. From there on, I just concentrated on not making any mistakes and getting the car to the finish line in the final laps I’ve always liked it a lot and I can’t wait to race.”
