What chaos in the first laps There was no shortage of chaos and confusion in the first laps of the Miami GP. After Max Verstappen’s spin at the start, who miraculously escaped accidents, the contacts that led to the introduction of the Safety Car came a few laps later: during the seventh lap, in fact, first Isack Hadjar ended up against the wall due to an error on his part and then there was a dangerous accident in turn 17 involving Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly. The New Zealander attempted an attack on the inside, but ended up hitting the Frenchman’s Alpine and causing it to have a dangerous rollover which ended against the Tecpro barriers that protect that point of the track. Both drivers were obviously forced to retire but the most important news is that Gasly managed to get out of the car independently, showing that he was well and had not suffered any physical problems in the accident. The episode was then investigated by the commissioners who, however – given the double withdrawal of the two protagonists – will evaluate the incident at the end of the GP to define a possible sanction against the Racing Bulls driver.
