Everything still to be evaluated The meeting scheduled for Monday 20 April between technicians, team principals, FOM and FIA will prove decisive in making changes to the new technical regulations introduced this year, with a subsequent final online vote which will make the changes valid from the next GP in Miami. Variations which, however, cannot be best evaluated on the track in both the United States and Canada, at least in the opinion of Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane. The Sprints scheduled The biggest obstacle for the British engineer, in fact, will be that of the format of both weekends in North America, which include the Sprint races: “Several proposals have been put forward – he explained – I think we will have a particular problem with Miami, being a sprint, because there is very little time to test anything”. In fact, in the month of April, no GP took place (nor will it take place) in F1, due to the cancellation of the tests in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia from the calendar due to the war in the Middle East. Everything postponed to Barcelona With the return to Miami, the Circus will subsequently move to Canada, but once again with only one free practice session scheduled due to another Sprint race. A chance to more easily test the innovations introduced that will only occur in Spain, from 12 to 14 June: “It could very well be that in Miami we try some of the changes, let’s say, that are a little simpler and less risky – added Permane – to then experiment with others in Montreal and finally, obviously, in Monaco, where it is almost impossible to test anything. So Barcelona could be the first occasion in which we will try some of the more demanding changes.”
