Pirelli chooses C3, C4 and C5 for Miami and Montreal

The compounds for Miami and Montreal In view of the Miami and Canadian GPs, Pirelli will make the softest tires in the range available to the teams. In fact, C3, C4 and C5 are the compounds chosen by the Milanese company for the events in Florida and Montreal, the fourth and fifth weekend of the World Championship respectively. They will both be Sprint events – respectively the second and third weekend with the short race – and represent the return to the track of Formula 1, currently stopped due to the war in Iran. The first US race of the season (May 1-3) follows a month-long pause in the championship due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix. The characteristics of the circuit built around the Dolphins stadium, characterized by a very smooth asphalt, allow the use of the softest compounds in the range, with mainly thermal degradation due to the high temperatures of Florida. In 2025, however, tire degradation was limited, and this led Pirelli to confirm the choice made 12 months ago. The Milanese company confirms the soft trio also for Montreal (22-24 May), a track which historically has a less abrasive asphalt and requires maximum grip in the points where the cars are subjected to sudden decelerations. In 2025 the C6 was used, which however is not available this year due to very limited race use.
