Karsan, the world’s technology-focused mobility brand in new generation public transportation, has successfully completed a 6-month comprehensive project with RATP Group, one of the most important public transportation operators operating in Paris, France. Within the scope of the project, the vehicle performed approximately 3,000 kilometers of autonomous driving in real city conditions with vehicles and pedestrians in open traffic, with an average of 5 hours of daily operation.

Within the scope of the project, Autonomous e-ATAK successfully passed the comprehensive technical verification processes carried out at the test track of UTAC, one of France’s leading automotive testing and certification organizations. In line with the results obtained, the vehicle received nationwide test approval from DGEC, which is responsible for autonomous mobility test approval processes under the French Ministry of Transport, and was authorized to perform autonomous operations in open traffic in France. Stating that the project was carried out on one of the busy and critical lines of Paris, Karsan CEO Okan Baş said, “Our vehicle has demonstrated its operational capability by being successfully tested in advanced driving scenarios such as navigation in mixed traffic conditions, precise docking at stops, real-time interaction with traffic lights and intersections. In the tests carried out for 6 months, the vehicle performed autonomous driving with a 98% success rate without driver intervention. This rate is a concrete proof of the high reliability and operational maturity of our autonomous solution in the field.”
