Dry start and wet race? Update 1.30pm – The start of the Canadian GP is scheduled for 10pm Italian time, 4pm in Montreal. At the moment the risk of showers that could affect the GP start time is decreasing: for 4.00 pm Canadian the probability of rain is 40% according to the accuweather.com website. However, be careful of the possibility of some isolated showers during the GP: the time slot from 5pm to 6pm (Montreal time) in fact involves a greater risk, estimated at 60%. The teams could therefore find themselves forced during the race to switch from dry tires to intermediate ones, a variable that could make the race decidedly unpredictable. The script for the Canadian GP is more or less following that of three weeks ago in Miami, but unlike what happened in Florida the race was not brought forward to ‘hit’ the best weather window. The forecasts, in fact, do not highlight a particular storm as was feared in Miami coinciding with the start of the GP. In Montreal today it could rain at any moment or not at all. According to weather portals such as accuweather.com and theweathernetwork.com, the probability of rain from 4pm local time onwards stands at 60%. The two portals however differ in terms of the probability of rain before the start. According to the first, the probability of rain does not exceed 40%, while it rises to 70% according to theweathernetwork.com. The Formula Academy and F2 races scheduled for 4.45pm and 6.05pm Italian time will allow us to keep the situation under control.
