Max has made his choice After the harsh criticism that Max Verstappen launched at the new regulatory cycle, the Dutchman seems to have smoothed out his idea, trusting in the short and medium term interventions that F1 has decided to implement on the regulation. “I don’t like these cars to drive, but I keep in mind that next year will be better and so now I can accept it a little more,” clarified the Dutchman in an exclusive interview with De Telegraaf. In short, Verstappen will still be on the grid for the 2027 season: “Yes, certainly. Unless really incredible things happen. I hope everyone keeps their word, but I can confirm that I will stay in F1.” But what is Max referring to when he mentions ‘keeping your word’? “Next year the ratio between combustion engine and electric will be approximately 60:40 depending on the circuit. It’s not the ideal solution, but a step in the right direction and certainly an improvement compared to the current situation.” Will Verstappen’s 2027 be in Red Bull? Perhaps Max Verstappen, however, leaves a veil of mystery about the team for which he will race next year: “I’m in no hurry. Ideally I would like to remain tied to Red Bull for life, I’ve always said that. But I don’t have to make this decision today or tomorrow. Whether here or elsewhere, there’s much more at stake than a simple F1 contract because I’m talking about all my other projects. And we’re also discussing it with Red Bull, but I’m calm about it. But I’ve never considered a sabbatical, not It would be like me. If I decided to stop, I would stop completely. But at the moment it’s not an option.” Click here to add Formula Passion as your favorite source on Google Discover: you will find our content more easily!
