Difficult weekend for the Monegasque “My worst weekend since I raced in F1”. Charles Leclerc, as always, was very severe towards him at the end of a GP which ended 34 seconds behind his teammate Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari driver risked ending the race prematurely against the barriers on several occasions, especially when he lost the rear at the exit of the last chicane while he was warming his tires during a neutralization. Scuderia di Maranello team principal Frederic Vasseur, in fact, emphasized the positive aspects of a complicated weekend for the Monegasque: “Charles has suffered, even in previous years he didn’t have great confidence on this track – Vasseur said to Sky – it’s already positive that he brought home the car and the points which are very important for the team. We expected a difficult weekend in Montreal, because several of our competitors brought updates while we didn’t, so this result is certainly encouraging”. Ferrari, in fact, has significantly pulled ahead of McLaren in the Constructors’ standings, the gap against Mercedes remains important.
