BYD Australia has delivered its 100,000th new vehicle, with Tim Shaw from Brisbane taking delivery of his new SHARK 6 Premium ute. It marks a significant milestone for the brand whose new energy vehicles continue to be warmly received by Australian customers.
Since launching in November 2022 with the popular ATTO 3 mid-size SUV, BYD has rapidly grown its line-up to 10 models, while continuing to expand its national dealer network to all parts of the country.
The family-sized Sealion 7 SUV leads the way as the brand’s most popular all-electric vehicle, with the recently-launched Atto 2 compact electric SUV winning over customers with its blend of leading technology, panache, performance and price.

The Shark 6 Premium Super Hybrid is the country’s top-selling pickup and plug-in hybrid amongst private buyers, with the Shark 6 range growing in May with the addition of a Shark 6 Dynamic cab-chassis variant made just for tradies, and a range-topping Shark 6 Performance pickup adding more grunt and towing ability.
BYD General Manager Asia Pacific Mr. Liu Xueliang in Australia on a planned visit, personally handed the keys over. Mr. Liu said he was delighted that BYD’s stylish and practical new energy vehicles were so well-suited to Australian lifestyles and resonated with Australian customers.

BYD Australia Chief Operating Officer Stephen Collins said: “The growth of BYD Australia over the last three and a half years has been remarkable. Australian motorists want stylish, practical and affordable new energy vehicles, now more than ever. It’s our pleasure to hand over our 100,000th vehicle today.
