Ford Australia is announcing the return of the street-legal, track-ready Mustang Dark Horse for the 2026 model year. Highlighting this release is a premier collaboration with legendary V8 Supercars team Triple Eight Race Engineering to create the exclusive T8-Spec Pack.
The 2026 Mustang Dark Horse lineup will be limited to no more than 500 Mustang Dark Horse, along with a strictly limited 250 Mustang Dark Horse with T8-Spec Pack. All Mustang Dark Horse vehicles optioned with the T8-Spec package will be upfitted as a Ford Licensed Accessory exclusively by Ford Australia at our Plant 2 facility in Broadmeadows, Victoria.

A Partnership Born of Performance
Triple Eight Race Engineering, known on the track as Red Bull Ampol Racing, is Australia’s most successful Supercars team. To celebrate Triple Eight racing the Mustang in the Australian Supercars championship, Ford Australia has developed a package that brings championship-winning DNA to the road.

Available exclusively in the new Avalanche Prestige Paint, and only with the Tremec six-speed manual transmission, the T8-Spec pack features a comprehensive suite of performance and aesthetic upgrades:
Enhanced Footprint: Equipped with 19×10.5-inch front and 19×11-inch rear alloys wrapped in high-performance Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tyres (305/30R19 front, 315/30R19 rear)
Aerodynamic Mastery: A larger rear spoiler with a Grabber Blue accented gurney flap and an enhanced front aero splitter1 (provided for track use only) significantly improve aerodynamic performance
Precision Handling: A revised MagneRide® suspension tune, stiffer springs, stiffer roll bars and adjustable top mounts provide sharper steering response and increased stability
Exclusive Visuals: Features a black rear applique with Grabber Blue Triple Eight branding, black roof, Notorious Blue Brembo brakes, and unique bonnet decals
Bespoke Interior: The cockpit features Recaro® sports seats with Indigo bolsters, Triple Eight branded scuff plates, a unique gear shift knob, and a sequentially numbered build plate
Ultimate Owner Experience
Every customer who purchases a Mustang Dark Horse with T8-Spec Pack will be invited to an exclusive Track Experience at Queensland Raceway in the first half of 2027. Owners will have the opportunity to engage with the Triple Eight team and learn the full potential of this vehicle in its natural habitat.
