Still in the top 10 For the third consecutive GP, Racing Bulls closed a race with both of its drivers in the points. The Faenza team’s positive streak of results, which began in Monaco, was also repeated at the Red Bull Ring, where Liam Lawson crossed the finish line in ninth position just ahead of his teammate Arvid Lindblad. Alpine ever closer A ‘double’ which, combined with Alpine’s one outside the top 10, has thus allowed team principal Alan Permane’s team to recover ground in the Constructors’ standings on the team from Enstone, with a gap of 13 points which now divides the two teams: “Today it was really very hot, but overall it was a good race – commented Lawson after the GP, with the New Zealander always starting from ninth position on the grid right in front of Lindblad – tire degradation was more or less as expected, which allowed us to stick to our plan. In the first stint we had very high brake temperatures, but the situation stabilized after a few laps.” A brief challenge “There was also a small misunderstanding between me and Arvid, so I was surprised when we found ourselves racing at Turn 4, but I managed to recover the position after the second pit stop – he added – we made a good step forward with the car this weekend and the pace was high throughout the race. Bringing home double points is a great result for the team and we will try to maintain this momentum. A sprint weekend at Silverstone gives us another great opportunity and I don’t see time to get back on track.” Great satisfaction for Lawson and for Lindblad, the only rookie of this season and ready to contest the next GP with this enthusiasm at Silverstone in front of his home crowd: “It was a positive race and it’s nice to get another double points result for the team. It wasn’t the easiest race for me in the car, I struggled in braking at low speed and with the hard tyres. There are some things that I could have managed better and that we need to work on, so I will definitely analyze them with the team. Now I can’t see “I’m looking forward to racing at Silverstone next week. It will be my first home race in Formula 1 and I know it will be very special. The team have done an amazing job in the last few races, continuing to bring updates and improve the performance of the car, so hopefully we can go there maintaining our recent good form, it would be really fantastic.”
