Since his debut at Red Bull In his experience in Formula 1 which began in AlphaTauri (now Racing Bulls) in the 2023 Dutch GP to replace the injured Daniel Ricciardo, Liam Lawson’s career has so far been dotted with ups and downs. Precisely on the occasion of his debut, the New Zealander was the protagonist of a convincing performance, repeating other notable performances with Racing Bulls in the last six races of the 2024 championship, with results that earned him promotion to Red Bull in 2025. Relegation However, after just two races, the chapter with the Milton Keynes company ended without any satisfaction, with a difficult return to the Faenza team as teammate of Isack Hadjar, now in Red Bull. This year, on the contrary, the 24-year-old has recovered by sharing the garage with rookie Arvid Lindblad, but his continuation in the team for the next championship still remains in question, at least according to some rumors. The rumors about 2027 According to the latter, in fact, Lawson could be replaced by another driver who grew up in the Red Bull Junior Team such as Nikola Tsolov. Currently involved in Formula 2 and in full battle with Gabriele Minì for the championship lead, the Bulgarian is highly appreciated by Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane, who has fully recognized the 19-year-old’s talent: “It’s a good problem to have, Tsolov will be knocking on the door very soon – he explained in an interview with El Mundo Deportivo – having too many good drivers is always a good problem. He’s doing an impressive job and we’re following him very closely. He’s doing an excellent job.” Recognition also for Lawson Permane therefore praised the very young talent of the Campos team, but also did the same with his driver, believing that the latter is carrying out his job regularly after a rather complicated 2025: “Liam was incredible this year, honestly – he added – we talk a lot about Arvid, rightly so, but Liam had a very difficult start. Furthermore, he found himself competing with Isack Hadjar, an extraordinary talent. This year, however, Liam did exactly that everything we asked of him. He’s totally focused, he’s still very fast, he takes opportunities when they arise, he doesn’t make mistakes and he’s doing a fantastic job. He’s well positioned in the overall world championship standings. That’s exactly what we ask of him, and he’s getting it.”
