Leclerc takes Silverstone Charles Leclerc is back to winning in F1. The Ferrari driver hadn’t been on the top step of the podium since the 2024 United States GP. Today’s 25 points allow Leclerc to stay out of the fight for the world title. The classification was shortened because the world championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli did not score points. The Mercedes driver seemed to be headed towards overtaking Leclerc and the final success, but a technical problem caused him to collapse in the standings, and Antonelli’s heroics were definitively ruined by five seconds for not respecting the track limits (errors forced by the technical problem) which excluded him from the points zone. “I’m sorry for Antonelli, but sometimes you need a bit of luck – said Leclerc to Sky’s microphones – I exposed myself a little yesterday by saying that I had found the feeling again and so it was also in the race. I’ve worked a lot in recent weeks. At the end with the Safety Car it always seemed that when I’m about to win a race something happens. I’m happy for myself, for the team and for everyone who suffered with me in the last few races.”
