Horner is in no rush “Christian is in a difficult position anyway, wherever he goes, if he doesn’t succeed, people will say ‘well, he was only very good when he was at Red Bull and had huge budgets at his disposal’ and things like that. So it’s difficult for him. I talk to him quite often and at the beginning I was trying to convince him to try to join Ferrari. Where will he end up? I have no idea.” Just today we reported these words from Bernie Ecclestone about the future of Christian Horner. Practically a year ago the British manager was fired from the position of team principal of Red Bull and received a severance package of 80 million pounds. Since then there have been several rumors relating to how Horner would return to F1, whether as a shareholder of Alpine, or with a twelfth team as ‘helmsman’ of a possible project linked to the Chinese giant BYD. One of the most logical hypotheses, however, has always been that of becoming the team principal of Aston Martin, where he would find Adrian Newey, relieving him, among other things, of the task and honor of this role. According to what was reported by the Daily Mail, Lawrence Stroll has returned to office after being very close to finalizing the agreement with Horner a few months ago, a negotiation which then collapsed at the last moment. Will the very wealthy Canadian have better luck this time? Today, among other things, Adrian Newey’s admissions of guilt regarding the difficulties of Aston Martin which in Hungary will try to convince Fernando Alonso to stay in 2027 through the package of updates planned for Budapest before the summer break.
