Second place in the Sprint for Hamilton Lewis Hamilton finished the British GP Sprint in second place at his home circuit of Silverstone. The Ferrari driver maintained the lead when the lights went out and tried to pull away, but halfway through the race he was unable to defend himself from Andrea Kimi Antonelli’s attack. The Mercedes driver overtook Hamilton on the Hangar Straight with a speed difference of 26 km/h. “If Mercedes will copy my energy management now? I don’t know, I can’t predict what Mercedes will do – Hamilton said to Sky’s microphones – I imagine they have made some changes and tried something like us. I can only work on mine, I can’t think about what Mercedes is doing. We know that they are very strong in the straights, but yesterday we had a good performance, the car gives great sensations in general and the team, everyone in the factory, is doing a truly fantastic job. We have to keep pushing and wait for that the day we manage to close the gap in terms of power, then we can really fight.”
